Terms of Service

Last updated: 29 August 2026

Please read these terms before using VeriClad. The most important one is section 2: you may only scan targets you own or are authorised to test.

1. What the service is

VeriClad performs automated dynamic application security testing (DAST) aligned with OWASP standards: black-box scanning of running websites and APIs, producing a risk-ranked report with remediation guidance.

The service does not include manual penetration testing, source code analysis (SAST), mobile application code review, or any form of security certification or compliance attestation. If that is what you need, this service is not a substitute.

2. Authorisation to scan (the important one)

You may only submit targets that you own, or for which you hold written authorisation from the owner to perform security testing. Every scan submission requires you to tick the authorisation statement, and that tick constitutes your representation and warranty to this effect.

Scanning systems without authorisation may be unlawful in most jurisdictions, and any resulting liability is yours. If we receive an objection from a target's owner or notice from an authority, we may immediately stop the scan and suspend or terminate your account without refund.

3. Accounts

The service uses Google sign-in. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account. Contact us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.

The service is not offered to individuals under 18.

4. Free trial

Each account may scan 1 target, once, at no charge. This is a one-time trial allowance, not a monthly quota. PDF reports produced during the trial carry a TRIAL watermark on every page and are not suitable for submission as formal documentation.

Scanning again, or obtaining an unwatermarked report, requires a paid plan.

5. Plans, payment and renewal

Paid plans are subscriptions, billed monthly or annually, and renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. We send a reminder before renewal and a receipt after each successful charge.

The price is the one shown on the site at the time you subscribe. Price changes apply only to billing periods beginning after the change, with notice in advance. For customers in Taiwan, government uniform invoices are issued by our partner, Yun Shu Yuan Education Technology Co., Ltd.

For the first 7 days of a new subscription, scans are limited to 20 per 24 hours. This exists to prevent abuse, is not reached in normal use, and lifts automatically.

6. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time from the Billing tab in the workbench. Service continues to the end of the current period, and you are not charged again.

Billing periods already under way are not refunded — the service was available and delivered throughout that period. This is a digital service supplied immediately with your prior consent; where local law grants a cooling-off right for distance contracts, that right does not apply to services already fully performed. Nothing here removes rights you have under mandatory consumer law in your jurisdiction.

If you believe a charge is wrong, contact us first. We investigate and respond within three business days. Filing a chargeback with your card issuer suspends your account for the duration of the dispute and cannot be reversed quickly — talking to us is almost always faster.

7. Limits of the findings

Automated testing cannot guarantee that every vulnerability is found. A report reflects what was detectable within the scanned scope at the time of the scan — a point-in-time snapshot. Its conclusions may no longer hold after you change the application, alter the environment, or once new vulnerabilities become public.

A report is not a security guarantee, nor a certification or attestation of regulatory compliance. You may use it as evidence that a technical assessment was performed, but whether it satisfies any particular regulation is for you or your auditor to determine.

8. Your responsibilities

Remediation is yours. We identify issues and advise; we do not modify your systems.

Reports contain exploitable technical detail — treat them as confidential. You must not use the service or its reports to attack or harass any system, or for any unlawful purpose.

9. Availability

We work to keep the service running but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, third-party outages and events beyond our control may cause temporary unavailability. We give notice ahead of significant planned maintenance.

We may change service features; where a change materially disadvantages you, we will tell you in advance.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising from the service is limited to the fees you actually paid in the twelve months preceding the claim, and excludes indirect loss, loss of profit and loss of data.

Nothing in this section excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or affects your rights under mandatory consumer protection law.

11. Changes and termination

These terms may be updated as the service or the law changes. Material changes will be posted on the site and, where appropriate, emailed. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the revised terms.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, in particular section 2. You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan), and disputes are subject to the Taiwan Taipei District Court as court of first instance, save where mandatory law provides otherwise.

The service is provided by DoubleMind LLC (United States); sales, collection and invoicing in Taiwan are handled by Yun Shu Yuan Education Technology Co., Ltd.

These terms govern use of the service and are not legal advice. Questions? Use the "Feedback" link in the site footer, or call +886 2 2823 0833.
